After we got the results from the survey we designed to give us more information about what the client's wanted for the outdoor space, each group set out to find a location for the classroom. The results from the survey told my group that the teachers and students who would be using the space wanted it to be: 1. in a quiet, shaded area 2. have wifi and a whiteboard 3. used as a classroom 4. wanted the seating to be amphitheater, group work, and class discussions Once my group knew all this, we could find the best spot for the outdoor space. Aside from the teachers' and students' requests, my group also focused on the drainage quality of the ground, if it was flat and level, the accessibility of its location on campus, whether or not it would be a distraction, and the natural lighting. My group found 3 spaces that we thought would be a good location. The first area was in between the art and cafeteria, the second was in the front of the school, and the third was in the middle of campus in a plot of trees. We ranked each spot on a scale from 1-3 in each category, and there was a tie between the first and third areas. We eventually decided on the space between the cafeteria and art building, because there was already a clear space there and it wasn't in a distracting area.
