The next step in building our outdoor classroom was researching what the client wanted to use the classroom for. The entire class helped to come up with questions for the survey that we would give to teachers and their students. Below are the questions we came up with: 1. Which of the following spaces would you use? (Outdoor Learning Space, Outdoor Classroom, Outdoor Study Space, Outdoor Work Space, Outdoor Learning Area, Outdoor Learning Theater, Amphitheater, Outdoor Lounge, or Lab of Outdoor Learning) 2. What tools/materials would you need to make this space functional for you? (Whiteboard, wifi, projector, outlets, water fountain, clipboards, or experiment equipment.) 3. What would you use this space for? (Lunch, lectures, quiet space, independent work, club meetings, class discussions, outdoor experiments, group work, social activities, or performances.) 4. What would be the most useful arrangement of seating? (Lecture, amphitheater, group work, class discussions, rows of desks, debate, standing only, or other. 5. What location factors are most important or convenient for your use of this space? (Quiet, near main buildings, shaded, visible, hidden, or other.) 6. What subjects would you want to teach/be taught in this classroom? (Math, science, English, history, arts, foreign language, clubs, PE, or psychology.) 7. What type of style do you want for the outdoor classroom? (Minimal, modern, rustic, natural, urban, or homey.)
